Australian Furniture Market Expands with Comprehensive Delivery Service Solutions

Date:

In recent years, Australia’s furniture industry has seen a significant transformation in how logistics are managed. With the rise of online furniture shopping and the interstate movement of large, high-value items, companies are increasingly turning to logistics providers that can handle multiple stages of the supply chain. This shift moves away from using separate transport and installation contractors toward more comprehensive logistics solutions that encompass everything from transportation to installation.

The unique demands of furniture logistics stem from the nature of the products themselves. Unlike standard parcel deliveries, furniture items are often bulky, heavy, and susceptible to damage. Deliveries can involve complex scenarios such as apartment buildings with restricted access or properties without elevators. With more consumers purchasing furniture online without physically seeing the items, the delivery and installation process has become a critical component of the customer experience. Australia’s furniture market, valued at approximately $12.6 billion annually, is set to continue its growth trajectory, particularly in the online space, despite the rising operational costs and workforce challenges faced by transport operators.

One company adapting to these changes is Brilliance Removals, which has expanded its services since its inception in 2015. Originally focused on traditional removals, the company now supports furniture brands and interior design businesses with a range of logistics services across major Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Townsville, and Cairns. Since December 2025, Brilliance Removals has partnered with various furniture brands such as Coco Republic, GlobeWest, and Satara, offering solutions ranging from local deliveries to more comprehensive logistics processes that include interstate transport, warehousing, and even packaging removal.

For interior designers, the role of specialised logistics is particularly crucial. Projects, whether residential or commercial, often require coordination of deliveries from multiple suppliers. This necessitates temporary storage and precise delivery timing to align with construction or renovation phases. Any delay in delivering a single furniture item can impact installation schedules and project timelines, making logistics providers that offer integrated storage, transportation, and installation services invaluable partners in ensuring seamless project execution.

Looking ahead, the Australian interior design sector is poised for growth over the next decade, with digital channels becoming an increasingly popular avenue for furniture purchases. As a result, the demand for logistics services capable of managing complex, large-scale deliveries is expected to rise. For furniture businesses, considerations around logistics are evolving beyond mere transportation costs. Factors such as delivery scheduling, product handling, storage, assembly, and overall customer experience are now key components of the supply chain. This trend is opening up new opportunities for logistics companies equipped with the necessary infrastructure, trained personnel, and expertise to handle the intricate demands of the furniture industry.
