The internet has been conquered by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, whose trailer crossed one billion views in just four days — a record no movie had ever come close to achieving. Released on March 17 by Sony Pictures, the trailer was confirmed at 1.1 billion views by WaveMetrix on Tuesday. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has made history once more, this time before the film has even premiered.
In 24 hours alone, the trailer amassed 718.6 million views, making it the single most-watched trailer ever in one day. The mark set by Deadpool & Wolverine’s Super Bowl teaser — 365 million views in 2024 — was demolished, as was Spider-Man: No Way Home’s 355.5 million and Grand Theft Auto VI’s 475 million. Brand New Day’s opening day was simply without comparison.
The cumulative 1.1 billion views by Tuesday confirmed that Brand New Day had entered territory no promotional campaign had ever explored. Not from Hollywood, not from gaming, not from streaming had any trailer ever reached a billion views. Brand New Day stands alone in this regard.
The film arrives in theatres on July 31, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. It stars Tom Holland alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando, as the fourth entry in the MCU Spider-Man saga and part of Phase Six. Indian viewers will enjoy the film in six languages including Hindi and Tamil.
The trailer showed a deeply human Peter Parker — invisible to the world, surviving in loneliness, and still rising to protect New York. Fans responded with viral passion, creating memes, alternate titles, and wave after wave of emotional commentary. July 31 cannot come fast enough for the hundreds of millions already captivated by Brand New Day.
