The World’s New Power Triangle: And the US is Not In It

Date:

A new power triangle has emerged on the world stage, and for the first time in decades, the United States is not part of it. The triangle consists of India, China, and Russia, whose leaders showcased their growing alignment at the recent SCO summit, a development that has alarmed American observers.
Political commentator Van Jones called the meeting a “historically big deal” and a clear sign of a “new world order.” He pointed to the image of Narendra Modi, Xi Jinping, and Vladimir Putin as a chilling symbol of a world that is organizing itself without, and in opposition to, the United States.
This new strategic geometry is a direct result of US foreign policy, particularly its focus on trade wars. By creating global instability, the US has inadvertently fostered closer ties between these three Eurasian giants, who see an opportunity to create a more multipolar world.
Jones lamented America’s new position, stating it is now the isolated party on the “bad side of the triangle.” This shift, he argued, has left the US “in a box” and facing a world where “it’s everybody against us.” This is a fundamental and dangerous change to the global power structure.
